ANTHOS. Sistema de información sobre las plantas de España

ANTHOS es un programa desarrollado para mostrar información sobre la biodiversidad de las plantas de España en Internet. Esta iniciativa ha nacido al amparo del proyecto de investigación Flora iberica para mostrar a la sociedad, en un formato dirigido a una amplia gama de públicos, los conocimientos los conocimientos que se generan en dicho proyecto.

El programa que fue inicialmente fruto del convenio suscrito entre la Fundación Biodiversidad, perteneciente al Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente, y el Real Jardín Botánico (Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas), Organismo Público de Investigación del Ministerio Economía y Competitividad, se sostiene ahora a través de diversos proyectos e iniciativas a las que contribuyen las mencionadas instituciones y en no menor medida el proyecto Flora iberica.   " (Início)

DELTA – DEscription Language for TAxonomy

The DELTA format (DEscription Language for TAxonomy) is a flexible method for encoding taxonomic descriptions for computer processing. DELTA-format data can be used to produce natural-language descriptions, conventional or interactive keys, cladistic or phenetic classifications, and information-retrieval systems.

Flora on - Flora de Portugal (Sociedade Portuguesa de Botânica): 

"O Flora-On é um portal onde se pretende sistematizar informação fotográfica, geográfica, morfológica e ecológica de todas as espécies de plantas vasculares autóctones ou naturalizadas listadas para a flora de Portugal (Continente, Açores e Madeira). "

Para as categorias taxonómicas superiores ao género (ordens e famílias), a classificação taxonómica adoptada no Flora-On é a proposta pelo Angiosperm Phylogeny Group III (2009) e Chase & Reveal (2009) para as angiospérmicas (plantas com flor); por Christenhusz et al. GRIN - The GRIN-Global Project

The GRIN-Global project's mission is to provide a scalable version of the Germplasm Resource Information Network (GRIN) suitable for use by any interested genebank in the world. The GRIN-Global database platform has been and is being implemented at various genebanks around the world.

ToL - The Tree of Life Web Project

"The Tree of Life Web Project is a collection of information about biodiversity compiled collaboratively by hundreds of expert and amateur contributors. Its goal is to contain a page with pictures, text, and other information for every species and for each group of organisms, living or extinct. Connections between Tree of Life web pages follow phylogenetic branching patterns between groups of organisms, so visitors can browse the hierarchy of life and learn about phylogeny and evolution as well as the characteristics of individual groups."  [...]

The Plant List

"Collaboration between the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Missouri Botanical Garden enabled the creation of The Plant List by combining multiple checklist data sets held by these institutions and other collaborators."

"The Plant List provides the Accepted Latin name for most species, with links to all Synonyms by which that species has been known. Around 20% of names are unresolved indicating that the data sources included provided no evidence or view as to whether the name should be treated as accepted or not, or there were conflicting opinions that could not be readily resolved." Data was extracted from source databases in May 2012 and thus records included here may differ from their current equivalent records in the source database from which they were taken. Where you suspect errors in The Plant List, please first check the source databases where corrections may have already been made. Feedback and corrections pertaining to records in The Plant List are passed on to the source database for consideration. If accepted by the source database they may be incorporated in a future version of The Plant List. We do not edit or revise the content of The Plant List directly.
There exist other reliable authoritative sources of taxonomic opinion for some groups or some regions which we simply did not have the time or resources to include in this version of The Plant List. Our ambition is for future versions to be more inclusive and comprehensive. Either work down the taxonomic hierarchy from Major Group (to find out which Families belong to each), to Family (to work out which Genera belong to each) or Genus (to find out which Species belong to each).
Or from within the taxonomic hierarchy move upwards so as to discover, for example, to which Family a particular Genus belongs.

The Battery Plant Database

"The Battery Plant Database was created by The Battery Conservancy to provide information about the perennial plantings in The Battery, the first waterfront park at the tip of Manhattan. The database includes information on specific perennials, including horticultural and popular names, families, colors, native range, planting zones, bloom time, moisture and light requirements and dimensions. Plant photographs were taken by Battery staff at The Battery (with a few exceptions)." (About)

Flora iberica

"FLORA IBERICA es el nombre de un proyecto nacido en 1980 que pretende —mediante investigación taxonómica original— poner al día y sintetizar los conocimientos actuales sobre las plantas vasculares que crecen espontáneamente en la Península Ibérica e Islas Baleares, territorio de una notable riqueza florística. El objetivo último es publicar una obra—tanto en forma de libro, como en formato electrónico, CD-ROM o incluso distribuido en Internet —donde se facilite la identificación de las plantas y donde se ofrezca para cada una de ellas: el nombre científico considerado correcto y sus sinónimos , una descripciónque destaque las peculiaridades morfológicas, un dibujo original o referencia a otro publicado, el hábitat en el que se cría, su distribución geográfica en el Mundo y en la área de la flora, el período de floración , su número cromosomático , sus nombres vernáculos, etc. Como puede verse en el género modelo, se hacen también observaciones, cuando ha lugar, sobre la variabilidad morfológica de cada taxon, usos más comunes, conservación, biología, nomenclatura, etc. [...] (El Proyecto: Preámbulo e Historia)
